Advance Upgrade to Advance 2016 This Weekend

We will be upgrading to Advance 2016 this weekend. In preparation for the upgrade, Advance will shut down at 5:00 PM today, 07/07/17 and will be back up on 07/10/17 at 8:00 AM. All work in Advance should stop by 5:00 and all batches should be posted. There will be no change in how Advance is accessed. The login procedure to Advance does not change at all.

All work in Advance should stop by 3:00 and all batches should be posted. There will be no change in how Advance is accessed. The login procedure to Advance does not change at all.

Advance 9.9.0 Upgrade

Advance will be upgraded to 9.9.0 Over the weekend of August 9th/10th.

The system will go down at 4:00pm August 8th and will be available again at 8:00am August 11th.

Advance-Test Refresh Schedule

Starting September 20th, the data in Advance-Test will be refreshed nightly.  This will continue as long as people need the update to work on their CFAE reports.  Once that process is done, we'll revert to the normal weekly schedule.

Advance Maintenance

Advance will be down for some server upgrades and maintenance this weekend.

advance-test.apps.maine.edu and advance.dev.apps.maine.edu will be down from 4:00 to 5:00 PM on Friday, September 13th.

advance.apps.maine.edu will be down on Sunday, September 15th for maintenance from approximately 5:00am to 9:00am.

Advance 9.8.1 Production is Ready

The upgraded production environment is now ready and available!   An issue with Crystal reports was discovered by your volunteer testers yesterday, but that problem has been resolved and to our knowledge everything is up and running.

The new URL to access 9.8.1 production is: https://advance.apps.maine.edu  Your current production username and password should get you in.

Please remember it will take the system a while to build a cache, or memory, of pages visited in the new database.  You may experience some slowness at first, but things should speed up as you continue to move around the system.

While everyone tested as thoroughly as possible, no major upgrade is without glitches.  As mentioned before, we ask that you report issues through JIRA.  You may submit a ticket directly through JIRA, or by using the 'Submit a Support Ticket' button on the Advance Support Site: http://support.advance.maine.edu

We anticipate that the Reporting and Test databases will be ready sometime later today.  We will email you when they're available, as well as update the links on the support site.

Advance Upgrade

Advance is being upgraded from 9.4.1 to 9.8.1

It will be unavailable from Friday August 23rd at 5:00pm until Tuesday August 27th at 8:00 AM.

Any delays or changes to the schedules will be announced here.

Potential Planned Advance Outage Notification - 4/21 - 6AM - 7AM

Due to maintenance being performed on the storage infrastructure that supports Advance, there is the potential for Advance to have an outage.  While we do not expect there to be a problem, we just wanted you to be aware that maintenance is being performed on supporting infrastructure which could affect services.  Here are the details:

Services Potentially Affected: All Advance Services.
Nature of the Outage: Maintenance to data center storage servers.
Maintenance Begins: 6AM Sunday, April 21.
Maintenance Scheduled to End: 7AM Sunday, April 21.

All Services Running Normally

The slow response times looks to have been from our file storage servers running slowly.  The problem has been fixed and all Advance services should now be running normally.
